50 Year Celebration!
The Rainy River First Nations (Manitou Rapids Fire Department) just held their 50 year celebration for Fire Prevention Week / FD activities for 1974 to 2024. Some honorary awards were presented along with their 50 Years of Service plaques presented to Council.
ONEIDA FIRST NATION HOSTS ONFFS

This year (2024) many Indigenous fire services from across Ontario to held their ONFFS (Ontario Native Firefighters Society) AGM and Firefighting competition at Oneida Nation of the Thames.

Beausoleil Fire Marine 1 Deploys | Fire Chief Monague
Beausoleil Fire Marine 1 (CCGA Unit 560) was requested by the Georgian Bay Squall Swim Group to assist with a relay swim from Lighthouse point on Christian Island to Collingwood Terminal, a 30 km swim. Through our partnerships in the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, we were able to utilize crew members from the CCGA Georgian Liberty Unit out of Penetanguishene to assist us with this tasking. | Sept 2024 | Chief Owen Monague
IFNA FIRE RESCUE AT NIFSC CONFERENCE in VANCOUVER, BC
The Independent First Nations Alliance (IFNA) Regional Fire Rescue (RFR) Chief's attended and spoke at the 2024 Annual Public Safety Conference hosted by the Indigenous Fire Marshal Service and associated partners. What a great event and big thank you to Directors Blair Wiggins, Arnold Lazarre, Karmen Couzens and all the amazing members for their hard work in putting this together and making it a success!
